While the temper for copper alloys differ significantly between American standard (ASTM) and Chinese standard (GB/T), and these differences can easily confuse customers. Therefore, a commonly used temper comparison chart and its definitions are crucial.

Description ASTM Standard GB/T Standard Explanation of GB/T Standard
Soft/Annealed O M The material is fully annealed to achieve minimum strength, maximum plasticity and ductility.
Hard H Y The material obtains higher strength and hardness through cold processing (rolling, drawing, etc.), and its plasticity decreases.
1/4 Hard H01 Y4 The cold working deformation is small, and the strength and hardness are between soft and semi-hard temper.
Semi-hard H02 Y2 Moderate degree of cold working deformation, with moderate strength and plasticity.
3/4 Hard H03 Y1  The cold working deformation is large, the strength is high, and it is close to the hard temper.
Hard H04 Y After work hardening to have higher tensile strength and lower plastic deformation capacity.
Extra Hard H06 The maximum degree of cold working deformation results in the highest strength and hardness (very low plasticity).

In short, the two major systems of American Standard and National Standard can basically reflect each other, but the specific application should be based on customer requirements or relevant product standards.
